why was my item sold before it reaced reserve
Because you didn't use a reserve. You added Buy It Now to auction which is not the same thing. Unless you have an official reserve (minimum £50) the Buy It Now will dsappear if someone places a bid and item will sell at the highest bid price.
Everything you need to know about selling on Ebay, including how to list and what all the listing options mean (and what they cost), is in the Seller Centre (link at foot of any page).
Hi
Are you getting a little bit confused?
When you list an item with a starting price as well as a buy it now price......as soon as someone bids at the lower price then the buy it now option will disappear and the auction will run and the item will sell to the highest bidder.
A buy it now price when you list as above is also not a reserve price. Reserves are classed as a listing upgrade and charged as such.
A reserve price cannot be set for lower than £50 and to be honest is a waste of fees. Ebay charge you 4% extra fees on the reserve price set even if the item does not sell because your reserve price has not been met.
You are far better off just listing an item at the lowest price you will be happy to sell it for just in case you only get one bid.
