buyer says parcel not delivered when royal mail says delivered

I have had a refund request opened today buyer says item not delivered and they have not been out anywhere but tracking with royal mail says delivered and recorded yesterday at 12.14pm on tracking which I had left for buyer.Which she does states says delivered but she has not received

Also went on Royal mail tracking site and also says the same thing delivered.

Have sent tracking details to ebay as requested what happens now please?

I have looked at buyers feedback and by all accounts she has very positive feedback from other sellers so I feel she is not lying ?

What should I do? just refund or wait and see what ebay says....

Thank you

Gemma

You won't have to Refund when you have Confirmed Delivery. All you can do is advise your Buyer to check with the Postie and ask where he left the Parcel. It could be with Neighbours or behind a Bush somewhere?

So long as the tracking details show successful delivery of the item to the address that you were given on the PayPal confirmation of payment e-mail eBay will decide the case in your favour, the end result being that you would not be obliged to refund the buyer's money.

Although there is no surefire way to prove it, it is possible that something may have happened to the item after it was delivered.  For example, if the item was left somewhere outside the front of the buyer's house as a result of the postman being unable to get an answer, then somebody may have nicked it before the buyer actually bothered to check and see whether anything parcels had been left outside the property.  I once bought an item from an eBay seller that was being delivered via Hermes and the courier left the package outside the front of the house, right next to the bins, and that was on dustbin collection day!  If the dustmen had arrived before I saw the parcel they may well have concluded that the package was being chucked out.  The only reason they didn't was because I went outside to chuck something else in the bin before the dustmen arrived and saw the package lying next to the bin.  If something like that has happened to your buyer and the item has been taken away with the rubbish then that's just bad luck on her part.  Once the item has been delivered to the address shown on the PayPal confirmation of payment e-mail you've fulfilled your side of the contract to get the item delivered to the buyer's address.  What happens to it beyond that point isn't your responsibility.
