Hi,
Please can you help me, I want to promote my eBay listings but the "sell it faster" (and indeed the "sell similar" and "actions") is greyed out so I cannot select it.
Please can you help me to work out why and how best to solve this?
Thanks
Kind Regards
Sam
Given that you've only been a member of eBay for a week I suspect that's got something to do with it. New sellers have limits imposed on their account, which eBay won't relinquish until they feel that the seller has proved himsef/herself to be a trustworthy seller. Once you get ten positive buyer feedbacks from nationally based buyers eBay then increase your selling limits, both in terms of the maximum amount of listings per calendar month and the maximum amount that you can earn from sales per calendar month. You'll also be offered the chance to sell internationally at that point, although it's not compulsory and you do not have to sell internationally if you do not want to do so.
With regards to the "Sell Similar" button being greyed out, there's an easy way to get around that problem. Set your listings up using the Advanced Selling Form - sometimes referred to as the Business Listing Tool - and ignore any messages from eBay that it's only suitable for business sellers. Anybody can use the Advanced Selling Form, whether they're business or private sellers, and you will not be penalised for using it to set up your listings. It also gives you far more control over your own listings than if you were to just use the bog standard selling form, as eBay tend to change things on listings created using the basic selling form but they do not do so with listings created using the Advanced Selling Form.
Once you've set up your first listing using the Advanced Selling Form save it as a template so that you can use it again should you list any siimilar items for sale in the future. All you'd have to do if you reused the template would be to delete the oiriginal shots and item description and then upload shots of the latest item being listed, as well as adding an Item description written specifically for that item. You wouldn't have to fill in the Item Specifics fields all over again, as the information would automatically be carried across from the original template. Therefore, instead of using "Sell Similar", just click on the All Selling option, then select "Sell An Item" from the list of options and select one of the presaved templates. You can have as many presaved templates as you want, so make the most of them.
You have nothing listed for sale, Sam, which is why those options aren't available.
Everything you need to know about selling on Ebay, including how to list, is in the Seller Centre. There's even a section there especially for new sellers, so have a careful read. 🙂
