Royal Mail delivery times with COV 19

Interesting to see what delivery times are like.

I ship around 100 per day ebay and currently. All items are small and under 2kg.

We ship in 1-2 days on post 48 and seeing anything from 2-14 days delivery

Anyone else having same problems?

Also why is nobody understanding when even i know there will be staff shortages and increased volume, dont understand why so many people are getting so mad that goods are late.

Yes it does appear that a lot of buyers live on a different planet. RM are doing a good job in the circumstances, but some people are never happy.

Why not put a note in the descriptions that there may be delays beyond your and Royal Mail's control.  Some buyers might even read it, so long as you don'y use any long words.

It seems so variable. I live in a village in Cambridgeshire and order a lot on eBay.   Most arrives well within the "predicted timescale". I bought a bicycle pump [chinese seller - UK location] and it arrived as I would expect within 48 hours. 

Part of the problem may be sellers who simply do not understand eBay's requirements.  I saw one [a business seller] which had its normal listing showing 24 hour courier but a sentence added to the text that he would not actually despatch till after the Covid.  Sellers cannot make up their own terms. He simply will be out of business!

I tend to work 12-14 hour days to get goods out in the 1-2 days time scale I promise.

With my normal website and ebay took 400 orders over weekend and cleared 90% orders same day and then the rest the days after. our delivery timescale is fine but items left us on the 14th still not arrived to customers and its now the 22nd.

My question was simply are other member experiencing royal mail delivery problems?

Simple answer, yes, of course other sellers are having the same experience, you only have to read other posts.

Totally agree as to the random nature of things. All my ebay purchases have arrived within their predicted date and my regular Tuesday weekly delivery arrives - every week - on Tuesday. 

Our postie claims easier to get around as roads totally clear

It is a bit hit & miss with all carriers at the moment.

Maybe extend your postage time to 2/3 days, that allows for any delays at the moment.

No chance 2-3 days with royal mail currently. I use DPD, UPS and parcel force. Found no problem with carriers but royal mail is anything from 2-15 days on 48 service. I checked 180 parcels I sent on the 14th and 18 still not delivered to customers

I was lucky that the  30 x second class large letter packets I shipped arrived within 2 days however larger parcels are still showing as undelivered and items my partner has ordered on line have not arrived through Royal Mail. Yyet something I ordered arrived in 2 days.

I think it is random service in different parts of the country depending on staffing.

Just hope everyone can be patient and all deliveries filter through evetually!
