Potential Fraudulant Return

Hi Community,

I sold an item 4 weeks ago, and the buyer is now claimng that it arrived with a manufacturer's fault. I sent photographs that clearly showed there is no fault and the part he claims to be missing, is clearly shown in the original listing. When I challenged them on this, they then suggested that it may have been damaged in transit. I feel this is impossible due to the packaging it was in, and really believe that they have used the item, broken it, and are now chancing it with a return request.

It seems very off to me, and eBay have, I think, automatically sided with the buyer. Is there a way for me to dispute this, has anyone experienced similar?

Then if you want to refuse the return, you'll be able to appeal when eBay auto refund the buyer upon its return. If this is your first defect it shouldn't overly effect your account as long as you don't aquire anymore.

I get the need to fight this. I sold an iPhone ages ago and the buyer scammed me. i was very green lol, and i did try to fight it but still lost out 🤷🏻‍♀️
