Paypal resolution time

As Paypal is now taking several days to transfer money into my account, presumably to earn more interest for themselves, does this mean that I now have to wait several months for them to resolve a problem I started several days ago.

If you've been switched to Managed Payments, you no longer have any payment involvement with PayPal whatsoever.  Payments made by buyers by PayPal do not go to your PayPal account. They go to your Ebay account via Ebay's PayPal account.

To get up to speed on how Managed Payment works, go to the Seller Centre or the Help pages, and read all the information Ebay supplied you with months ago, as advised in your previous threads.

If you haven't been switched to Managed Payments yet, PayPal is not taking several days to transfer money. When you action a transfer from PayPal, it should arrive in your linked bank account immediately. If it doesn't, that is down to your bank taking several days to process the payment on receipt. It has nothing whatsoever to do with PayPal.

Regarding your question as to how long PayPal will take to resolve your problem, ask on the PayPal forums or ask PayPal direct.

With the exception of new, occasional and returning sellers PayPal don't take several days to transfer the funds into a seller's account.  The most likely explanation as to why this is happening is because eBay have more than likely switched you over to their new eBay Managed Payments scheme, with business sellers being moved across to eBay Managed Payments to start with.  There have been reports from other sellers that the payment from sales has taken up to a week to be transferred to their bank account, whereas with the old system that eBay seem hellbent on doing away with, as soon as a buyer made payment for the item the payment would be transferred to the seller's PayPal account within a matter of seconds, so I really cannot see how eBay can say that this is a change for the better.

Unfortunately, though, in the long term eBay's intention is to move all sellers over to eBay Managed Payments, regardless of whether they are business or private sellers, so once you've been moved over to eBay Managed Payments then should you still wish to sell on eBay there will be no second option with regards to how your payment is processed, with the obvious exception of Collection In Person Only or Classified items, where the buyer can pay in hard cash for the item upon collection.
