I currently have a live auction listing (2 days to go, bids recieved but reserve not met). Based on some questions i've recieved i'd like to amend the current description or add a note. According to eBay's 'Revise' work flow the item description is something that I should be able to amend but when I go to it the item description is greyed out. Any ideas?
"Payment by bank transfer which will have to clear before collection of the vehicle"
But you also offer Paypal which any winner is entitled to use now.
Reserves are a rip pff,you will be charged 4% of whatever the reserve is whether it sells or not.
Classified ad's are the only way to go with vehicles, auctions can end miserably for a seller.

Reserves for vehicles are not 4%..........they are a fixed one off price of £9,99 per advert
Vehicle sellers should never offer Paypal......mistake by the seller
You can't amend description when you have bids!
even if you added a note, the current bidders may not see it....lets face it...they have bid on the present description
you are asking a lot...bank transfer before collection? Bank transfers don't have to " clear" they are instant!
if amends are really important you need to end listing and relist...although you need to be aware of eBay fees for doing this...
You cannot amend the description, all you can do is add a note, but that goes below te description will not be seen by existing bidders and most likely not by any new bidders either.
Bids have been placed on the information already read, any changes could mean that bidders may not have bid in the first place and a winning bidder might have cause for complaint.
You do realise that if the Campervan does not meet the reserve you still pay the Listing Fee and the Reserve Fee. Can make it an expensive Non Sale.
If possible it is best to avoid Reserves, puts buyers off, best to start at a price you are happy to sell at or at least put in the details what the reserve is then bidders do not waste their time.
