Item bought on "buy it now" then askes to cancel

I sold an item on "buy it now" then buyer asks to cancell the transaction straight away this i agreed to & opened a buyer wishers to cancell he has 10days to confirm this ,my problem is if he refuses to confirm (we are on day 9) do i get charged the ebay fees etc

I agree with 1902elder where he/she says "I cannot understand, when it is so obvious that the OP has not paid, that we should have to wait 10 days to get the fees refunded."  Personally I think that if the buyer decides to cancel the transaction but fails to complete the request to cancel the transaction then the buyer should automatically receive a strike on his/her account when the case expires, in the same way that he/she would have done if an Unpaid Item Dispute had been opened against the buyer and was subsequently closed by the seller without payment having been received.  If eBay were to start penalising timewasters for doing that then it may well give the buyer more incentive to complete the request to cancel the transaction properly in order to avoid picking up a strike on his/her account.

No, after 10 days with no reponse from the "buyer", Ebay will close it and your fees will be refunded. I cannot understand, when it is so obvious that the OP has not paid, that we should have to wait 10 days to get the fees refunded.

i agree, some of these `waiting times` i think are ridiculous.
i`ve just had to return an item for £80 that arrived damaged, which the seller has got back, but i had to message him asking why he had refunded me by echeque, when i did`nt pay that way. i know the reason, but i`ve got to wait 3-5 working days for it to clear, then probably a few days to show in my bank account.
It`s the same with this 8 day wait sellers have to deal with disputes, i appreciate their given that in case they want to send a replacement, that`s fine, but if its a buyer asking for a refund, then those cases should only be allowed half that to deal with it. I know someones going to say 8 days allows for holidays or something, but if you have items still for sale on ebay, then you can deal with issues, where you are on the planet should`nt be a buyers issue!

Yes, and a defect on your account.   You can appeal to ebay as you have proof buyer asked to cancel.

Sorry but that is wrong!

The seller did a cancellation request choosing buyer wishes to cancel.

This won't result in a defect or a non refund of the fee.

At the moment the buyer is refusing to confirm he wishers to cancel the purchase so i assume i will have to pay selling fees it gets me that he wanted the other side seat cover no prob i have one if you like no reply !!!!

If buyer does not confirm, you will NOT have to pay fees, it would only be be if they claimed that they had not asked to cancel.

If the buyer actually declines the cancellation request then you don't receive a refund of the seller fee. I would doubt the buyer would do that if they actually asked you to cancel the sale.
If they don't do anything then the case will auto close in your favour after 10 days and ebay will refund the seller fee.
Sit tight, don't communicate with the buyer.
