How to I ship small items but too big for a letter box cheaply to make a profit?

I have just started up my own Ebay business and i am wondering if you can help me out.

I have got some items to sell that are too big for a letter box but i cant post cheaply enough to match my competitors and make any profit. 

I am also wondering what the benefits of opening an ebay store would have to me for 19.99 a month.

you don't need a shop yet as you don't have enough listings

take a look at courier prices for your larger items
