Hi
Need some advice here please. I sold a necklace back in November. The buyer contacted me two weeks ago to say they hadn’t received the item 3 months later! I sent it a short had proof of postage but as it was so long ago I hadn’t kept it.
I was so shocked to get this after 3 months I did some digging online. I found this persons Facebook account and she was WEARING THE NECKLACE in her profile picture.
She has now submitted a chargeback and £83 has been taken from my account. PayPal have also said they will be taking a £14 charge for the transaction.
She will not reply to my messages and PayPal are saying it isn’t up to them as it sits with their bank, they will not give me the name of the bank and they will not give the bank my details either.
Am I really just having to take the hit on this?
If you need proof that an item has been delivered you can retrieve the tracking details from your PayPal account under activity, find the original payment, click under payment amount and view postage details, you can then copy & paste the tracking number onto the carrier website track & trace and it will display the delivery date. This would allow you to deal with postage older than 3 months which is not shown on EBay. You can than use this info to contest a claim of 'Item not received'.
