Hi
Sold item the tracking shows out for delivery date/time no further updates, CS advised they are unable to confirm where parcel is.
Buyer opened a case requesting another item be sent. Within minutes of case being opened I put message in the case re a full refund was best and would be issued through the case. In the case I clicked on Refund Buyer - Continue - Refund a message refund successful looked in Paypal refund showed, here we are days later:
In my sold list this item now shows as item to be posted & posting is overdue.
The case shows as Open advising me to resolve by 23rd and that buyer is awaiting item in See Case Details it states that I have issued a full refund to the buyer Then states Case Is Still Open.
Paypal shows refund was issued
Can feel a defect heading my way!!
First of all, get in touch with eBay Customer Service again. Advise the eBay representative you are speaking to that you have refunded the buyer via eBay but are still getting messages to resolve the matter by Wednesday 23rd September. If the person you are speaking to doesn't seem convinced then advise him/her to check out the case details manually, making sure that you point out the fact that when you made the refund via the case you got a message saying "Refund successful" and that the refund actually shows up in PayPal. Ask eBay to check this with PayPal if they still require further proof - a person who was trying to mislead somebody into thinking they'd refunded a buyer when they hadn't would not go to that effort to persuade eBay to investigate further and take a closer look at the transaction.
If you are lucky enough to get a helpful eBay representative who actually checks the case manually and he/she realises that the refund went through successfully then this ought to be enough to prevent you from picking up an undeserved defect. However, in the event that you don't see this message in time and have already been slapped with a refund-related defect by the time you read this, then appeal the defect regardless and be prepared to fight your corner in case you get put through to a dimwit and/or a jobsworth when you get through to eBay. If you refuse to let the matter drop and keep on hassling eBay about removing the defect that you shouldn't have been hit with in the first place then eventually you may well get through to somebody who will listen to your argument, in which case the defect ought to be removed once eBay realise that you were hit with a defect as a result of something that went wrong at their end.
It sounds as if the process is simply taking its time to update. But you don't provide any dates, so it's impossible to be sure. All I can suggest is that if it's still not updated 24 hours after you completed the refund, to contact Ebay. Help & Contact is at top and foot of any page. I recommend 'Request a callback' rather than Live Chat for this particular issue.
