is it fair ....i know dealers who buy at the same places i do sell more than me and pay no fees when they sell on EBAY..................i am registered as business and pay over 15% .......how can i compete especially as my items are swamped by sellers who pay no fees trying unsucccessfully to sell overprced items........when i try to buy someting and look at the items about to end i can sometimes count over hundred poor items without a bid before i get fed up and give up the search

No it's absolutely not fair.

thankyou but i wonder if the people who matter in EBAY READ these messages....it is a good company not realizing its potential

No it's not fair - see by discussion 'Private' Business sellers

I agree it is not fair.
As eBay is now swamped by 'no fees sellers', it is important that the 'fee paying Sellers' advertise their items using the Title & Specifics & give a good description.

I doubt that Eve and Sholto read them, but people at eBay HQ do read them, I genuinely don't know how they go to work and just accept its so uneven though, they are trying their best to help us sell but deep down know theres nothing they can do as the basics is somebody who has the exact same platform but 15% cheaper will never be able to be beaten.

for me i reckon the economics are thus : neglecting the cost of the item (i have to buy it i am a business !! i am encouraged to offer free postage...........sell a small item for £2 i get nothing....sell ashoebox full for £10 i get £2...so i have to sell in larger quantities..........which are bought cheaply by non business users (??!!) to be sold at £2 and £10
