New Payment Rules On ebay i.e. 2 days after delivery

ebay;s new payment terms for Sellers is a CON. Now Sellers are paid 2 days after delivery. This means you won't be paid for at least 4/5 days after dispatch instead of immediately a Tracking No is provided for a dispatched order. This means your buyers money is withheld from your Sellers Account for at least 2 days longer. This allows ebay to stick your money on a short term interest deposit account for at least 48 hours. Just consider and reflect how many MILLIONS OF £'s of our money is earning ebay short term deposit interest. This will result in ebay making more millions from our money. Why do they not offer Sellers a dividend from their invested money? They won't, they are taking us for MUGS.

Unless they changed their announcement it can be anything upto 14 days after the buyer receives delivery. 2 days isn't/wasn't guaranteed. So it's potentially far worse than you are imagining.

If what you are saying is correct, that is unforgivable and perhaps we
should all be considering alternative platforms to sell on. Any suggestions?

Not exactly correct.

eBay will hold a payout for 14 days only if there is no tracking to show delivery.

Tracking showing delivery , payouts will be released after 2 days.

A new announcement informs us items under the value of £10,  do not need tracking,  and payouts for those will be released if the buyer leaves feedback.

Whilst it's true, buyers do not always leave feedback, but at least those items do not now have to have the extra cost of a tracking added,  to a low value item.

Not wishing to argue, but unless eBay are showing different information to different people what they sent me says "funds will typically be available in your eBay balance 2 days after delivery".

Their choice of wording is a clue. Combine that with Royal Mails umbrella programme that to the best of my knowledge only Special Delivery is exempt from (that they allow a further 10 working days after something enters their network to deliver. You can't claim until that total timeframe has finished. The other services are advertised as delivery aims, not guarantees) and you have a system where in theory they could keep the money from most sales for the full 14 days. I don't use Evri because they are useless but I wouldn't be remotely surprised if they have a similar program.

The only ways you could really guarantee receiving payment at their fastest payout time is by using Special Delivery, but that is cost prohibitive and is unlikely to be a valid choice for most sales types.

That is correct,  under the new system to be implemented soon,  the date seems to be flexible,  your payouts will be available for you if you have tracking to show delivery,  then the payout is available 2 days after that delivery.

With no tracking to show delivery,  there will be a hold of 14 days before release of that payout.

This was at first shown to start on the 4th of February, but eBay have applied it now, only to Some electrical items.  It seems it will start for all Private sellers by the end of February.

Special Delivery for Private sellers we believe will become mandatory anytime before the end of March. Again no confirmation of any date made.

At the top of these boards top left,  click on eBay News >>  Announcements,  eBay will announce any changes there . I'm checking daily as there seems to be changes regularly made to the dates and items affected by  the coming of Buyer Protection Fees.

Ebay's CEO made a public statement to that effect, with it purporting to start in Q1 of this year.
