How to ship item over the extra large suitcase range?

Hello,

I am a UK seller trying to list a canvas print measuring 120cm by 80cm. I've done my research with Parcelforce and know they would accept it if I went directly with them, but as I'm selling on eBay which doesn't seem to accept anything with dimensions over 150x62.5x62.5cm, this is so far not an option.

Is there anyway around this?

I'm not too concerned about international shipping as I only want to get rid of this print and will sell UK only if that's my only option.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you

How to ship item over the extra large suitcase range?

Really... That's cool thanks. Do I have to notify eBay in any way so they can confirm that the parcel is shipped, or do they just have no involvement at all?

ITs probably safer going direct with the carrier than via ebays packaging. Once you send the item there is a little tab with add tracking add the number you receive and thats that. Just remember when sending at PO with parcelforce not to exceed 1.5m in length and 3m length and girth combined.

From the postage drop-down menu - select - 'Postage or Collection' or 'Postage ONLY'

Parcelforce 48 should appear in your options.

Insert the postage cost you are charging.

I also suggest checking your settings for 'Excluded Locations' and tick all those you do not want to post to (some UK areas may incur additional charges)

Parcelforce will also collect from your home at no extra cost and this will reduce chance of damage at the PO transfer.

Once collected/Posted remember to enter the Tracking Number against the item on your 'Orders@ page.

Thank you, I'm going to go direct with the carrier, but then how do I fill in the listing's delivery section? There's no way to leave it blank and I don't want to enter contradictory info that I don't intend to use.

Which section of "the listing's delivery section" are you referring to?

How to ship item over the extra large suitcase range?

Looking at the measurements you quoted you may be running very close to the Parcelforce limit - depending upon the final packed sizes. 1.2m + 0.8m + 0.8m + (2 x thickness ?) = < 3.0m OR 1.2m + 1.2m + 0.8m + (2 x thickness ?) > 3.0m.

Worth double checking with P/F which way they will measure the girth.

This bit. And I know I'm close to the PF limits but at least I'm within them compared to the ones eBay gives

Click on - View all delivery services. From drop-down scroll down to Parcelforce 48. That will bring up the screen I showed you. You then enter your own postage figure.

Does it still say courier or other courier in postal options?

I would put that and in your description state you will either use ParcelForce or another carrier  of your choice, once it is packaged... or something along those lines.

As long as you have the tracking receipt and upload the reference onto the system and click in the dropdown box the correct carrier it is sent with, you should be fine.

I have done this without issue.

Have you checked DPD to see if they can accommodate?

Once posted you can add the tracking reference to your order page so that the buyer and eBay can see that it has been posted and can follow the delivery time.

I do not use eBay postal labels - I always go direct.
