Cant withdraw my funds..... Tried everything i can.. ''Withdraw'' still greyed out.

Hello, 

I know this has been discussed many times but i am at my wits end and i feel angry.  I have recently sold some items on Ebay,  No issues, funds processed. I then used 2/3 of those funds to purchase something else..... Again no issue. I then went to withdraw the remaining funds but for some reason the option to withdraw is greyed out, i have tried using a different browser, clearing caches and cookies, logging in and out on both PC and Mobile App. I updated my ''withdrawal'' bank account with an Ebay representative, waited 48hrs for the red banner to go while checks are done, and still nothing. I have had no emails stating if `they require any information or anything. 

I am expecting more sales in the near future and i have no doubt the problem is going to persist, And if it does i will be unable to purchase items that i want due to this change in payouts.  Its like my funds are being held hostage by Ebay. Customer service has been good but there is only so much i am willing to wait to get my own money.

Looking at the value of items for sale, you have possibly been flagged as a risky seller. Of course, 3Bay should tell you this openly, if indeed it is the case, although I have to say its also an indication of how flowchart-led the people you talk to for 'help' are, as I cannot imagine was there a genuine need previously to update your bank details, sounds more like the sort of guess the CS rep came up with to try and look as if something might help? Changing the bank account may have made things worse tbf.

Usually I say calling CS gets you the same advice or tools you can get for yourself 24/7 off the website, but worse and slower, but in your case I would phone early AM to try and get Ireland based CS and try and see what is happening.

A risky seller?   I have been selling for years - Sometimes items valued at more than what i am selling now. Always posted on time - Unless advised to the buyer due to work commitments, items may be posted late.  I have spoken to a few reps and they have confirmed everything is above board and all my values are green (If that makes sense) 

I withdrew funds a month or so ago using this new method with no issues,  then all of a sudden its being a living nightmare.

True,   you have been selling for years,  but it seems you had a bit of a break from selling and returned ?

The hold now after a few sales,  I would think is a security measure and a good one,  both for your account and your buyers.

Dormant accounts, when suddenly showing sales and if the items are of a good value like yours,  raise red flags to eBay.  They wish to see that the original owner has returned to sell on the account.

Once tracking shows delivery on all those items, eBay are happy that it is you the genuine owner returning to sale.

eBay will never reveal exact numbers of sales required to lift those holds for obvious reasons.  I can honestly say before this hold was introduced we saw many more posts here , members informing us of hijacked accounts.

Show regular selling and delivery and you will be able to once again withdraw money daily if you so wish.

If Ebay have for whatever reason put some secret hold on my funds as i work away a lot and therefore cannot commit to selling everyday of the week, then they need to make this clear, despite me speaking to a person at Ebay and them saying everything is okay with my account? So what happens if i dont sell for a month again?  I cant get money which is rightly mine?  Ebay continue to suspect i am a dodgy seller?  i Withdrew money on the 23rd Dec no issues?  It seems that by changing the way payments are made they have somehow made the system break for some, as im not the only one who has had this issue. Yet i can bet this is not going to be a quick fix.

Think you  missed my reply, or perhaps I was not clear.

If  an account is not used regularly and is dormant say for a month or so, eBay won't reveal the exact timeline involved for obvious security reasons,  eBay are not thinking you are a dodgy seller,  far from it,  and the exact opposite.

The money is held to prove it is you returning , and not another person hijacking your account to sell.

Years ago when such a hold was not in place I would answers many questions on very worried sellers saying they have gone to their account to see items sold they have no knowledge of and owing £*** in fees.

Happens less now.

Have tracking to show delivery,  eBay is happy you,  the genuine seller has returned, and money is released.

I understand what you are saying, its the frustration of it all.  I  ALWAYS send my items tracked and insured to the highest guarantee.  And the last 5 or so items i have sent have been received and feedback left for three of them.  I guess ill give it a week and then take further action if necessary.  

Ebay need to be more forthcoming, And send an email if they are holding funds for whatever reason.

Also, I would not say my account has been dormant for over a month,  I sold items on the 18th Aug, 12th Sept, 16th Sept, 30th Sept, 15th Nov, 30th Nov, 22nd Dec, 24th Dec and 25th December. All delivered, with FULL tracking history.  And only on the December transactions has this been a problem.

Aaah we have no direct access to your account only what we can see from your feedback profile so I was going on feedback received and the times received, there seemed to be  a break from selling.

I cannot disagree it is frustrating, but eBay will never reveal their random security holds on members accounts.

Just rang Ebay CS again, Apparently its a technical issue for a lot of people and hopefully it will be resolved within 72 working hours.

Sorry, I don't believe that for a second - what the advisor likely meant was: 'this seems like it might be a long call and I need to keep my calls-per-hour stats within limit or I'll be hammered at my next monthly performance review. I'll make something up and someone else can take the flack when the customer (inevitably) calls back in a few days'.

Please come back and update this thread with the outcome of whether this '72 hour glitch' was indeed resolved. I'd like to know whether you got your funds or not. As a private seller I only sell sporadically and if I cant count on getting paid why would I continue to use Ebay. I dont understand why Ebay would expect us to supply items for sale and post them all at our own cost and risk without any commitment from them to actually pay the seller in a timely and consistent manner. Very concerning.

Good Morning, I am still unable to get my funds, I know it has not been 72 working hours per se'  ,  allowing for new year holidays etc, i am giving them til Friday, however i have since sold another item so will be interesting to see if i can withdraw that when the processing  has finished. I will keep you updated with any developments.

In not a frequent seller, it's my first sale. Funds were on hold for 3 days. Hold has been lifted but 'Withdraw' button is greyed out. Same/similar boat as you.

I have the same issue myself.

Ebay support said its a system problem but no timeline on solving.

As of the 03/01/2025 i still cannot withdraw my funds which are now increasing due to sales,  Having again to spoken to an EBay CS agent , they have contacted their technical department and pushed it through as a ''Priority'' so i will wait for a response.............. And have little expectation of it being fixed.

Also to add,  I asked if the agent can manually transfer MY funds to MY account, apparently they cannot, but are happy to take my monthly subscription (that i cannot use to its full potential) out of my bank account.  I cannot even buy items using my Ebay balance.

This is extremely concerning. If I were in your shoes I would put my store on vacation and ensure no more sales are made until this is sorted out. I really sympathise with your issue. Please continue to update the status of your payments on this thread. I have fingers crossed for you.  Do you know how many others are affected by this issue?

From what I've found out there is a fair amount of people affected by this. I don't know why ebay thought to change the way payments are made.  Been nothing but trouble.

I just contacted eBay CS and they gave me a different story, saying they validating my bank account. I saw this charge days ago £0.01 but they say it takes 6-8 days. 

This is my first sale to be honest.
