Account restricted

I am writing this message with deep respect and sincerity, hoping for your understanding and support.

I have been a proud eBay member since 2013. I joined eBay first as a buyer because I truly believed—and still believe—that eBay is one of the best e-commerce platforms in the world. Later, I became a seller after carefully learning eBay’s rules and policies, and I have always tried my best to protect eBay’s reputation through honest selling and responsible customer service.

My account restriction has caused me significant distress, as eBay is an essential platform for my legitimate business activities.

I understand the importance of maintaining a safe and trustworthy online marketplace, and I assure you that I have never engaged in any activities that could violate eBay s policies. In light of the restricted, I have conducted an in-depth review of my account activity

Over the years, I built my account step by step with great care. I am especially proud that my feedback profile reflects 100% positive feedback with no negative feedback, which shows my commitment to providing a positive experience to every buyer.

Unfortunately, toward the end of this year, I faced unexpected and uncontrollable challenges that deeply affected my business. A national Sri Lanka Post strike in late August 2025 caused severe delivery delays.

During this difficult period, two orders shipped to Israel were delayed, which resulted in two INR cases. Even though these delays were not my fault, I immediately communicated with the buyer and issued full refunds to protect customer trust.

What makes this situation especially painful is that after the refunds were issued, the buyer later contacted me through eBay Messages confirming that parcels were actually received. This message is clearly visible in my eBay inbox and confirms that the items were delivered and that the issue was only a temporary delay.

At the same time, shipping to America was heavily affected due to changes in the tax-exemption (de minimis) policy, which caused significant disruptions and a sharp drop in order volume. Because very few new orders were coming in during this period, these two INR cases had an unexpected and overwhelming impact on my BBE rate, even though no new delivery issues occurred..

Losing my eBay selling account after many years of honest and compliant selling has been extremely heartbreaking for me. eBay has been a part of my life for more than a decade, and this platform has helped me support myself and serve customers worldwide. I have always valued the opportunity to sell on eBay and never took it for granted.

During this time, I carefully reviewed eBay’s selling policies once again and took additional steps to ensure that even the smallest issue would not affect buyers in the future. Postal services have now stabilized, and I am fully prepared to continue selling responsibly and in full compliance with eBay’s standards.

but Ebay decided to permanently restrict my account..

Thank you sincerely for taking the time to read my message I truly hope for another opportunity to continue being a responsible and trustworthy seller in the eBay community.

What should I do?

As you're registered in Sri Lanka you will need to make contact with eBay support via eBay.com - eBay's UK customer support will not be able to help you. However, when eBay states it is a permanent selling restriction they usually mean it.

UK-registered sellers do not have a "Bad Buyer Experience" (BBE) metric so hardly anyone who posts on these boards will know what you are referring to - eBay.com's community boards would probably be a better place to post.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
