"Buy it Now" during an auction

Hi! can somebody explain how "Buy it Now" during an auction works, and if the Buyer Protection fee influences this.

I have advertised a Flymo Cordless Lawnmower with a starting price of £60, including a "Buy it Now" fee of £120.00 option for the customer to secure the item and end it early.

Firstly, the "Buy it Now" price did not appear on the advert, although it is noted in my selling details on MyEbay.

A potential customer contacted me asking for the Buy it Now Price, which I responded to, stating it was £120.00. He then placed a bid for £120.00, but it showed up on my selling page as £114.70, therefore not reaching the £120.00 limit. (I guess the difference is dur to the Buyer Protection Fee).

If he amends his bid to £125.30 will that automatically end the auction and grant him the winning bid?

Thanks, Heather.

The Buy It Now price is removed as soon as the first bid comes in, and you now have 8 showing on your auction, so the auction will now run to the end and the highest bidder will be the winner.

Thanks. That isn't really how I intended it to run. I thought "Buy it Now" meant that if a purchaser bid the "Buy it Now" mount, he automatically secured the purchase, regardless of other, lower bids. I must blame myself for my innocence and ignorance. I have promised the potential buyer that he can have it for £120.00 (Plus Postage). Am I allowed to end the auction early and grant him the purchase?

If he is the highest bidder, you can end listing - sell to highest bidder.

He will pay what the bid is, you can't alter price.
