Hi everyone,
I’ve been experiencing a very frustrating issue recently with the eBay app or platform changing my item specifics without my consent. As a seller who takes pride in crafting detailed and accurate listings, I find this especially concerning as it could be impacting my performance and buyer trust. I’d like to see if others are facing similar issues or if there’s any advice on preventing this.
Here are a few examples of what’s been happening:
1. Casual Shirt Listing: I had meticulously selected “Casual” as the style, yet after the listing went live, I noticed that every possible style option (like formal, business, wedding, etc.) had somehow been selected. This makes no sense for a casual shirt and certainly wasn’t my choice.
2. Hiking Shirt Listing: This one was even more baffling. For a hiking shirt, the item specifics somehow included “Business,” “Wedding,” and “Christening,” which are completely irrelevant. Worse still, the material was changed to “Denim” – and I know full well I would never have picked denim for that! It’s confusing for potential buyers looking for functional outdoor gear.
3. Performance/Activity Options: Sometimes, I’ll go into a listing, and I’ll find that around 8 or 10 different performance/activity options have been selected. These include activities that are completely unrelated to the item I’m listing, and I know I would never select those options. It’s frustrating to see these irrelevant specifics added, as it could mislead buyers or affect the item’s visibility in search results.
I put a lot of effort into ensuring my item specifics are accurate because I understand how eBay’s Cassini algorithm works. I know that accurate specifics and relevant details are essential for search visibility, and I work hard to optimise my listings accordingly. For the past few days, however, I’ve had to revise the majority of my listings because something on eBay’s end keeps modifying the item specifics. It’s not only time-consuming but also impacts the integrity of my listings, potentially causing confusion for buyers and reducing my chances of a sale.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a setting I can adjust, or is this a glitch on eBay’s end? I’d really appreciate any advice, as I’m worried about the negative effect this might be having on my overall performance.
Thanks in advance for any insights. This issue is genuinely affecting my ability to maintain a high standard on my listings.
Frankly, I think it’s downright out of order that this is happening. I work hard to ensure my listings are accurate and optimised, and it’s disappointing to see these changes being made without my input. Thanks in advance for any insights.
David.
