account ownership confirmation?

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me please if they have received a message from ebay requesting that I need to pass quick account ownership confirmation and without it they are unable to procees successful purchase of my products??.  I have been a member for well over 15 years never heard of this. 

Any help would be appreciated.

Likely to be fake,  genuine messages from ebay are addressed to you by name.

If fake should be forwarded to spoof@ebay.com

I have never heard of such a request.  Can you cut and paste the exact wording, and did the message address you by your actual name?

Ebay identity checks but these are on an individual, not 'account ownership'.

Thank you. The exact wording ( which I thought was strange) is:-

"Thanks for being with us.
Our policies have changed, due to this, you need to pass quick account ownership confirmation. Without it we are unable to process successful purchases of your products. For Further actions pass quick confirmation here" which then directs me to a link. ( which of course I have ignored).
