I am a UK private seller, with lots of positive feedback as a seller & buyer.
I am listing my car as an auction, but eBay is only allowing 'Cash on Collection' with no other options?
Why is this please?
Thanks in advance.

Because that is safest for you. Never accept any form of third party payment for a vehicle.

Thanks for your answer, can you elaborate a little please?
How come they don't allow me to be paid through the eBay system like all of the other items i have sold?

Because any payment that is not cash in hand can potentially be withdrawn or refunded at a later date. Even where is no ebay buyer protection it is still a risk because you don't know how the buyer is funding the payment.

Oh ok, so even bank transfer is not safe then?
Hopefully I don't get any of those dodgy bank notes that seem to be quite regular now.
Thanks, Steve.

In theory I wouldn't even trust a bank transfer. You can say you won't accept any £50 notes.

OK, thanks very much for your advice.
I have just downloaded the Bank of England 'How to check your bank notes' guide, time for some 'learning'.
Thanks again, Steve.
