Refund

A seller sent me the wrong item so I ask to return the item for a refund. The seller has asked me to close the return before they will give me a refund. They did offer me a partial refund to keep the item that was sent by mistake. I ordered a can opener and received a tape measure! But I happy to return it.

Don't close the return.

The seller can either provide a label, get the item back, and refund you or they can refund you without you sending the item back.

They don't need you to close the return to do either of those things.

Refuse the partial refund and wait for a label or a full refund.

If the seller doesn't refund you or provide a label, you can go back to the case and ask Ebay to step in.

Obviously you can't do that if you have closed the case.

Refund

Once closed there is nothing you can do through ebay. Seller may not know this but usually they know what they are doing and once closed ebay will not get involved.

Very foolish of seller not to resolve, as you can always go to your payment provider for assistance.

What sort of return did you open, it should have been Not as described, and seller pays for return label.
