Refund

A Seller initiated a refund to my account for an items he claimed they were no longer available in the warehouse. After three days, I still haven't received the refund back to my account.

What can I do to resolve this issue?

Refund

Refunds return to source.  If you used a debit card it takes around 7 days to get there.  Credit card payments return to card in up to 30 days but usually quicker.

If you received notification of the refund from ebay it will happen.  Otherwise open a not received case on ebay after the estimated delivery date.

Refund

Seller would have to cancel the sale which automatically refunds, but using reason “out of stock” seller gets a defect, so unless ebay have advised that a refund has been made, you will have to open a not received case.

On no account having opened a case close it on promises.

Select "Report an item you didn't receive" on here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/returns-items-not-received-refunds-buyers/get-help-item-hasnt-arr...
and escalate it 3 complete working days later to get a full refund.

Refund

No, I haven't been able to raise a case file because eBay keeps having a technical issue they have not been able to resolve for only God knows when and how.

Each time I tried to raise a case and submit the following pops up; "Report submission failed
We are currently working on resolving the system
error and apologise for any inconvenience.
Try again."

It's very frustrating and disappointing.

I regret the the day I made an order on eBay.

Thank you for your help so far.

Which device are you using?  If the app or mobile browser, switch to a laptop / PC and use Chrome.

Are you still within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery?  Then, try opening a case from there.

Refund

Hello,

As you advised, I just tried to open a case using laptop. Unfortunately this was what popped up: " You can't open a request for this item

The seller already gave you a full refund. See details".

I haven't received any refunds. The seller told me yesterday that it is  eBay that is withholding the money.

He also wrote to eBay, they replied and claimed I have a problem with my visa account. This is a complete lie. I do transactions with my bank account almost everyday. I receive and make payments via this bank account always.

Similar thing happened to me last month on Amazon, my money was refunded back to the same Bank account without stress or questioning.

Now, I can't open a case, how on early can I reach eBay?

The made the payment for the item on the 12th of this month. The seller made a refund I didn't receive till now on the 13th of this month.

Refund

It doesn't matter what the seller says here,  that  a refund has been made, have you received a message from eBay that a refund is being processed?

Once eBay notify you the refund is made,  being processed,  then it's not instantly returned to you,  and does go back to original payment source.

If you paid with PayPal it goes back to your PayPal account fairly swiftly.

Paying with a debit / bank card?  Can take up to 12 days to appear back in your bank account.

Credit card payment?  This takes the longest,  up to 30 days to appear back in the card account used.

Refund

Hello,

I have not received any message from eBay to this regard.

I paid with Italian bank account called MOONEY. They operate just the same way as Revolute.

I still haven't received a message from eBay. They didn't send me a message to let me know that it has been processed or they attempted to pay but my account has had issues.

I check my account balance every minute, still nothing.

I have never seen such an online retail outlet like eBay. It's very frustrating.

What I still don't understand is why would a seller advertise items he doesn't have in his inventory? After making payment, he realised or remembered that the item was out of stock. Maybe they don't understand what is called buffer inventory or it is an organised scam.

It may be that it's your Italian bank account which is causing the issue.  Usually on a UK  registered account you need a UK registered bank account to make payments, make and receive refunds.

Do you have a UK current or business registered account?  Might be best to add that to your eBay account with the link below.  Once registered your refund will be directed there.
