Refund request from time waster.

Hi,

I recently accepted an offer on a large item from a buyer. The buyer then advised for a delay in picking up as their car wasn't big enough. Pick up was put off two more times. Now they have advised they can't pick it up and now are request a refund. It appears there was never any intention of picking up the item and issuing a refund would leave me short as the money was used for a job I needed doing. Do I need to issue a refund? Could ebay help as their automated help service is pretty useless. Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Morally you can't keep the item and the money.

If it's within 30 days of purchase the buyer could open a case for item not received and get a refund that way.

Within 90 days of purchase you can cancel the sale and the refund will happen automatically.

After that any refunds are outside of ebay.

Refund request from time waster.

So long as within 30 days, buyer can open a not received case or just ask you to cancel. Even if over the 30 days, buyer could still go to their payment provider for help.

You cannot keep the money, but if you do not refund, you can get a defect on your account and ebay will still refund at your expense.

Place buyer on Blocked bidders list.
