Refund for damaged item

I ordered a kitchen sink top and asked  the seller before buying if there was any damage. The reply was there is no damage.

When the sink arrived the box had been re-sealed and was scruffy. I unpacked the sink and found 2 corners were bent.

I reported this to this seller but they haven't answered.

Do I have to return the item before I get a refund?

Do I have to pay return postage?

Should I get the purchase price back and the postage?

I've never needed to do this before so just need a bit of information.

Refund for damaged item

You need to open a case for item arrived damged, the seller should supply a prepaid return label and refund you after they receive it.

To open a claim find the item in your purchases then under 'more actions' select return this item arrived damaged, if you don't hear from the seller within 4 ddays return to the claim and escalate it to eBay.

Was it a private seller and did you pay the buyer protection fee?

If so if damaged in transit ebay should refund, not the seller, without the need to return.

The buyer protection fee has nothing to do with this issue.
