Postage

As a Private Seller if I offer Free Postage on an item of any value am I at liberty to choose whichever method of postage I choose under Custom Postage, I.e., tracked and signed for with Royal Mail. Currently SD does not offer a Signed For option for added security. It is not necessarily the insured cost in question, but the actual item itself. There still remains an element of risk with tracked items being left on doorsteps etc.

Under the current SD system with Free Postage is the seller just debited with the cost by EBay and still provided with a QCode, and with the buyer still charged the Seller Protection, or is it possible to dispatch whichever method wished.
Lastly, as a Business Seller, can you personally dispatch sold items as wished with Royal Mail, getting away completely from the SD system?

Many thanks from a somewhat frustrated seller.

Postage

If the custom postage is still available to you during the listing process (it is for a lot of people but not all) then you can choose your own postage as we used to do before SD.   However ebay are changing listings to SD after they've been submitted so nothing seems guaranteed at the moment.

If you register as a business seller you leave SD behind you and post your items as you wish.

Postage

Very helpful thank you.  Can at present still load Custom Postage, but, as you say, worried of EBay interception at loading or selling stage. Some serious deliberation required!
Thanks again.
