Postage dvd /large letter option

Hi all.  When selling a dvd I used Large Letter as the postage option (£1.55). However, when I went to the post office, they said it would be £3-odd!  I couldn't understand a word he was saying, unfortunately, as to why it wasn't £1.55 - I think he said it was something to do with my hand-written label.  But if I clicked on 'Buy Label' on ebay, that was £3-odd - what's going on(!)   And what do I do now that the buyer has paid?

Hand written labels make no difference, I do it all the time.

If you are able to use custom postage and item is within the requirements for large letter, then £1.55 should be correct.

It is up to you to know the cost if PO staff get it wrong.
