Not Used Simple Delivery Label

Hopefully this is an easy answer!

I was selling some A3 sized posters in tubes, which were listed as small parcels as the tubes were 5cm in diameter.

For some reason ebay changed some (but not all) of them to Simple Delivery and, without my realising, in its wisdom it decided they would be large letters and not small parcels - and obviously any purchasers would not want the posters folded up - so that was not a great decision by ebay! (Incidentally I have now obviously gone into each of those SD listings and changed them from Large Letter back to Small Parcel).

But, before I had realised this, one buyer bought two of my posters - one that was Simple Delivery and one that wasn't! So, the obvious solution from my part was to put both posters in one tube and send off by the non-Simple Delivery method applicable to the non SD listing.

So, now the Simple Delivery label has not been opened, printed or used - and therefore the buyer will get a refund for that incorrect 'large letter' SD postage in due course!

But, my question is: Do I need to click on the 'Get Postage Label' tab in order for the item to become marked as dispatched (in ebays eyes) and, because I won't actually use the label the buyer will still get their refund

OR

Do I not need to click on the 'Get Postage Label' tab as it will make no difference and I will still keep on getting reminders to post something that I have already sent?

All of this could easily have been avoided if ebay had just changed the postage cost when switching listings to SD instead of deciding to change the package category too - I have had to go through most of my other listings and correct many more of ebays assumptions - which saw some of my package sizes increased and some reduced - in some cases so the package was smaller than the item! What a shambles!

Yes, to mark as dispatched trigger that SD label, and do not use, if you had buyer pays they will automatically be refunded and can take around 30 days.

With one label used, payout for the untracked poster will be held for a minimum of 14 days.

Many thanks for the reply. That's as I suspected, but I didn't want to trigger the SD label without making sure it would have no detrimental impact on the buyer receiving their unused postage refund.
