New seller - requesting selling limit increase advice

Hi everyone, I am a new  seller on eBay UK. I started selling on 5th May 2026. eBay gave me a limit of 35 items per month. I have listed 32 items and have several orders currently in transit. When I try to request a limit increase, the system says I am not eligible. Has anyone faced this situation? How did you increase your limit as a new private seller? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Doubt your limits will be increased because you are on a Private account which is one for selling your used unwanted items,  for example,  a wardrobe,  attic,  garage clear out.

Selling all new items some in quantities too,  you need a Business account,  then I'm sure you'll receive the correct amount of listings.

It's easy to switch your current one to a Business one this way:

  1. Go to Account settings in My eBay.
  2. Select Personal information
  3. Select Edit next to Account type. You may be asked to sign in again.
  4. Select Confirm to upgrade to a Business account.
  5. Specify whether you operate your business as a legal entity or as a sole proprietor and select Continue.
  6. On the following page, enter your business information such as name, contact information, and returns policy. Then select Save.

Probably best to use a PC / laptop for this,  and not the app or mobile browser.  Chrome seems to work best on eBay.
