Messaging a customer who bought something 9 years ago

Can anyone tell me how I can message someone I sold something to 9 years ago? I want to try to buy it back from him. I only have the ebay ID of the person. Can I somehow message him through Ebay messaging?

They may well not be a registered user now, but if they are and you have their ID use it to find them with this link:
