I sold an item for which the buyer choose a cheap postage option. All I got from eBay was a QR code… the post office scanned the code and this is now registered as dispatched. Except the post office THEN checked the weight and found the item over weight for the paid-for postage.. so cancelled it. Now I have an item that eBay thinks is scanned and shipped, but the post office won’t accept. I could cancel the order, but then eBay take £15 from me to cover the ‘promotion’ cost which they consider non/refundable!! Chat bot is useless and I can’t find a number to call. Any ideas?

Paying the new postage yourself might be cheaper than cancelling, especially if you think the promotion helped the sale.

Buy the correct priced over the counter postage from your Post Office. If you cannot manually change the tracking then contact eBay Customer Services, link below, they will do this for you.
If you did not use Simple Delivery and purchased the label from eBay, you can receive a full refund for the unused label, but may need to wait 24 hours for it to appear before being able to cancel it.
Find your label with this link . https://www.ebay.co.uk/ship/
The refund will take between 5 - 21 days to process.
If you need to,
