I have bought a fake item

Hi I bought a golf club a couple of months ago, but only managed to get to the course last week. I popped in to the pro shop to look at other clubs and asked the pro to look at my club.
The pro said that the club was definitely fake and showed me a number of differences from the original in the shop.

i have since sent numerous emails to the seller without reply.

I have sent 3 or 4 emails to EBay who have not upheld my query, as they are relating to a counterfeit add.

i cannot find anyone to speak to and explain my issue.

I have been an EBay member for over 25yrs with 100% feedback. I am fed up how fair and honest members are abused like this without and support from EBay.

Any ideas?

You have 30 days from delivery to raise any claim with eBay, after this they will not help.

You could try your payment provider card/bank account as they normally have a time limit of 120 days or citizens advice if the seller was a UK business

Unfortunately, I bought the club 2months ago, but only got out to the course last week.
The club is still wrapped and never used it, once I was advised it was fake.

Unfortunately, like so many buyers you forgot the warning in the user agreement: that eBay does not guarantee that items sold here will be truthfully described, safe or even legal. Would you have bought this club from a shop that stated this? Buying from unknown sellers on eBay can be hugely risky, you need to protect yourself in every way you can.

eBay does at least offset this risk by providing its own, strong money back guarantee for most items sold here. But this only lasts for 30 days, so when buying here it is vital to open and check items promptly on delivery. After 30 days eBay will have no interest, whatever happens. It's important for buyers to understand the risks.

As has been said, depending upon how you paid your payment provider e.g. credit or debit card may still be able to help - their time limit to claim is longer, typically around 90 days from the date of payment. Good luck!

Thank you for your reply, I was not aware of the credit card payment policy. I will try to go down this route and see how we get on.
