I have been charged and refunded for an item I have no knowledge about. I have to now wait for a refund.

Do you mean you are being refunded for an item you didn't buy?  Or, the seller is refunding for an item you did buy, but for no good reason?

 

If the latter and you have not agreed to the refund,  you cannot force a seller to send a paid for item but you can inform eBay Customer Services of this,  that you did not authorise the refund, and were disappointed not to receive your item,  they may place a defect on the seller's account.
