How do I claim for an item I sent by Royal Mail which never arrived?

Hi,  I posted a lovely perfume set to someone on 7th May, I have a tracking number but no receipt.  The buyer never received it, and I refunded him as it was a present for his daughter and also didn't want a bad review.  It was quite expensive at £60.  How do I claim for the loss of the parcel.  Thanks

Depending on how you purchased the postage originally. If via eBay you claim via them, if direct at post office or from Royal Mail you can claim online at Royal Mail website.

however being perfume was it still in original packaging and packed correctly with relevant ‘warning’ label attached? If it was not packed correctly or did not comply with royal mails strict guidelines they are within their rights to destroy the item which also would invalidate any claim.

If you used Simple Delivery on the listing when the buyer opened a "not as described/damaged" case ebay would have refunded themselves and you keep the original payment.

As you've refunded upfront (and/or didn't use SD) if you bought the postage through ebay you can claim here:

If you bought from your post office or Royal Mail you claim direct from them via their website, or get the claim form from your PO.
