Holding an item for buyer before sending

Hello,

A potential buyer wishes to purchase an item but has asked me to hold it for a month before sending it to them as they're away.  I'm perfectly happy to do do.  Is there a way to do this?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

You could end the current listing and relist when they are ready to buy if your happy doing that.

If they bought it now the delivery label would expire and you would get a defect against your account for late delivery

Many thanks Stephen, that looks like it may be the only solution.
The danger of course is they may change their mind in the meantime and a
fairly seasonal item will be more difficult to sell later.

Officially no there isn't a way to do it, the only way round it is to mark as dispatch now and post later, however I would ensure the buyer is board with this. This avoids the defect, but don't upload tracking later to the hub as it will flag it as late and obviously don't buy a label now as it will be out of date.

Much better and correctly is as @61stephenuk re list when they will be home and then send. For present you would then need to cancel the order as problem with buyers address.

Thanks Tommy, that last line of advice may well be an option and naturally I don't want to get a defect for late delivery.

It seems like there should be a way of doing this - if the buyer pays now and requests later delivery.  I'll try to persuade them to have it delivered now and hope that works.

Many thanks again for your advice

Ebay is inflexible, they give sellers a dispatch by date and buyers an expected arrival date, and that is as it has to be.

What with possibility of late dispatch and late delivery defects, it is best to either go with ebay’s dates or cancel, rather than damage your selling account.

Many thanks John, and to earlier respondents too. It would seem the system
is inflexible and so, to prevent damaging my seller profile, I’ll have to
discuss how to move forward with the buyer.

Best regards all
