Why are ebay removing hatching egg adverts from some sellers but accepting new adverts from others. If the policy is not to allow sales of hatching eggs anymore, how come only some of us seem to be being targeted. I had my latest advert removed with only 1 day to go and several people watching. This is totally unfair when there are still thousands of adverts showing. Who even came up with this policy ? Eggs are just eggs until they are incubated - they are not live animals. You are just as likely to buy a fertile egg from Waitrose ! How do we even get to challenge this decision ? Ebay need to explain themselves. If I don't see all adverts removed very soon, I will simply list mine again and see what happens.

Ebay have included hatching eggs under live animal policy.
Others still listed have not been reported or removed yet, it does not mean they should be allowed.
EBAY SITE = EBAY RULES!

There are 7 billion plus listings on eBay at any one time.
Many need to be checked for selling regs, and so it takes time, and invariably some will slip the net, and become listed.
Once spotted and reported like yours was they too will be removed.
There's a report button the right hand side of every listing, eBay also rely on members to report listings which breach their selling rules.

Thank you for your reply but what I would like to know is why so few sellers have so far been affected and how has Ebay come to the decision that a hatching egg (i.e. an egg that could possibly develop in to an embryo provided it is either placed in an incubator or put under a broody hen), is in fact a 'live animal'. Agreed, it has the potential to become a live animal but it most certainly is not at the time breeders put them on Ebay. Is it ok that we are unable to challenge this decision or even take it up with decision makers at Ebay ?

Ebay don't allow you to dispute policy.
So it doesn't matter whether you or I agree with it.
