Hacked Account_with 2 step verification

Hi, 

My account was hacked. 

I had it from 2009 

Between January and now 22.03 2026- I did not use it 

In January 21 2026 somebody hacked it and started listing and selling things through this account. 

I put 2-step validation on 22.03.2026 and changed password and somebody still manage to relist the same things on eBay, on the same account. 

This make me suspect that somebody working inside eBay is picking accounts which are not active for long and then using it for stealing from other people. 

There is no way somebody without help from eBay employee could access 2-step verification account. 

That is the problem for eBay to solve.

My problem is this. 

I want to close this account, but there is still 0.15 $ in balance left after thief withdraw money. 

eBay does not allow me to close this account because there is this 0.15 $ in balance. 

How to do it. 

There is no help from their bots.

You are using $ sign, so are you registered in the USA? If so this is ebay UK, and younneed to take this up with Ebay com.

If you are registered in the U K, without knowing your user ID, it is impossible to see what sales if  any show on your account, or suggest what might have happened. 

I doubt very much that an Ebay Employee is involved, but that is something to take up with ebay, as we are members just like you not Ebay.
