Global shipping programme buyer claims item not as described

Hello

I have been an ebay seller for 20 years and I am now not selling anything compared to what i used to. I think everyone are using other platforms and I am sick of ebay protecting buyers and not helping sellers.

I am trying to get an answer from ebay regarding how return would work if a buyer in the US buys from me and then claims the item is not as described through the global shipping programme. How does return shipping work?

Do I still have to provide a returns label?

Thanks for any help

Kind regards,

Tora

GSP does cover you if the item is damaged in transit or not delivered.

However, for an 'item not as described' case, you are expected to pay for the item to be returned.  I don't think (though others may know better) that you can provide a label.

You may have to pay upfront, by sending the money to the buyer, for a tracked return to the UK.

Would the buyer settle for a partial refund, do you think?

Just my opinion, but I do think you are leaving yourself open to such claims by using pictures that are not of the items you are selling. They do look smart and professional but they are not pictures of the actual item for sale.  I would use more pictures for each item, but only use pictures of the item in my possession.

Global shipping programme buyer claims item not as described

Thanks I have been selling on ebay for 20 years so I am aware of how selling works- but have noted that US buyers tend to claim item not as described as they know that the seller will have to cover shipping and that you as a seller cannot dispute that claim. I have sold many times to someone claiming not as descríbed and then sold the exact same item to someone else without any problems.

I was after how the Global shipping programme works for returns but nobody seem to be able to answer and I spent 30min trying to chat to ebay about it so my conclusion is that there is no automated label for global shipping meaning that you as a seller are very vulnerable. My decision therefore will be to stop selling outside of the UK as the risk is not worth it.
