I had a buyer ask me if I would do an expedited shipping on an order as it was for a christmas gift, I paid for the shipping with royal mail tracked 24 outside of ebay only to find there was no way for me to manually replace the "simple delivery" with the royal mail one. I'm now in the position that the buyer has received their order and ebay won't release the funds for 30 days because their tracking label was never used. Is there any way I can get it released earlier, for example if the buyer confirmed receipt of the item?

No they can't mark as received.
Most payments are triggered by tracking showing delivery, but that has to be tracking in the ebay system.
Helping your customer means you have to wait for payment.
Have you looked at the payment hold guidance?

Why do you think Ebay won't release the funds for 30 days?

Because that's what I was just told by ebay support in chat

The usual time frame in this situation is 14 days, unless there are other reasons for a payment hold.
Whatever it is you can't speed it up.

There aren't any other reasons for a hold no, so there is literally no way for the buyer to mark the item as received?
