Fraud thru PayPal onto eBay ?

When making a offer for an item PayPal offer to pay automatically if the offer was excepted 

so I clicked yes 

this then changed my eBay somehow 

when I went to Tracy the item I purchased I notice my eBay had changed and I had no previous history  my eBay name had changed and it was showing I joined on 2025 

i looked out and back on and everything came back to normal however PayPal had paid a scammer for the item I thought I purchased

Sounds as though at some time you have opened another account in error, if so if you can find it again you could close it.

If this purchase shows in your purchases, why does it have to be a scammer? If nothing arrives by the expected delivery date, you just use the eBay 30 day money back guarantee, open a not received case to get a full refund. If seller does not refund within 3 days you escalate the case to ebay.

Sellers can set requirements to require immediate payment when they accept an offer. The sale is not completed until paid, and item is still available to other buyers, until paid

If you do have a second account, using the same email, that could explain the unusual things that happened with your account, nothing to do with seller.

I don’t have a second account
The PayPal setting changed my eBay acc It was then I noticed my name had changed and the year I started and all my previous transactions had gone
Then I logged out and back in my old acc came back up
But the item I purchased was not in my purchases ,it’s gone !

Have you unwittingly opened another account ? --- Reported to happen if using Mobiles/Apps to signin using Facebook/Apple/Google login options resulting in opening a closely matched but 'cloned' new account with missing History and/or corrupted account details >

Try to recover the full Original 2004 account/history with  > eBay.co.uk <  Homepage login  using previous/usual email/Username/s/Password/s etc. using the Guest search here >
