Fire risk - eBay won't help

There's an item for sale that I considered buying, but I checked if there had been any product recalls that specific item with that serial number has been recalled due to fire risk. I've tried to let eBay know but they do not care

It's not that they don't care, but they cannot act on one message which could be coming from a disgruntled customer,  or even a competitor.

Is this from a Private seller?  Have you sent them a Private message informing this of this recall providing the evidence you have?  Worth a shot.  They may or may not act on it.

Perhaps try the manufacturer of the item.  They would have more force and ability to ask eBay to remove the item from their site.

I provided evidence to eBay of the recall notice and matching serial number. I also sent the same to the seller. Neither has taken any notice.

eBay have relented and removed the item! I'm relieved 😅 as it was a dehumidifier that's known to overheat and catch fire. Thank you for responding
