Exemptions from ( not so) Simple Delivery

I am under the impression from the email I received today from EBay, that I will still be able to choose to post any item that is under £10 with Royal Mail. Can anyone tell me does this include the  “buyer protection tax” that our buyers now have to pay?
I refuse to bow to the demands of Ebay telling me which postal system I can use, and want to continue to use Royal Mail.
I’m intending to delete all my higher value items, and just sell any items I have for £9.99 or under if this is the case.

After reading it again, and seeing a few other enquiries in this vein , I think it looks like the protection fee/ tax isn’t included in the £10. BUT, I now notice that not only does the item have to be under £10, it has to weigh less than 100g ! Is this correct?
