Ebay accepted my complaint/report about a buyer - what do I do if Ebay won't tell me the outcome?

Hi - I need help please. I reported a buyer who claimed the item I sold him didn't arrive, but I (subsequently) saw he had picked it up from Royal Mail. I refunded him as he immediately opened a case, and Ebay told me I had to refund, which I did. Whilst a couple of weeks later trying to open a case with Royal Mail to get compensation, I noted the buyer had actually picked it up. He has lied about how much I paid for postage, what Royal Mail charged him to take the item away and also when he actually picked the item up (weeks prior to the date he said when I contacted him to say "great. I see the item actually arrived"). He demanded extra money on top of what he said they charged him, to send it back, so I contacted ebay as I was quite upset about the lies etc. He has since been making demands and saying he will give it to charity the next day if I don't pay him - and I have advised him repeatedly to kindly wait and that I had contacted ebay for advice... Ebay were very kind last week and said they'd open a "report a buyer" case for which I received a confirmation email. I'm still waiting for some indication on what to do, whilst being hassled by the buyer, but then I read at the bottom of the email by Ebay that they won't be telling me what their actions might be as a result of my reporting the buyer. I don't know what to do, please can someone advise? Many thanks, D

Once a case has closed with a refund nothing can be done through eBay.  If eBay do take any action against the buyer to be honest I cannot see any rules the buyer has broken, they are not expected to pay for the return postage to you now,  eBay never reveal outcomes if action is taken.

Now the case is closed,  it is between you and the buyer to solve this.  However, unfair it sounds nothing to enforce them to pay for the forwarding tracked postage you do need to pay for this , but doing so will not enforce the buyer to send the item especially if relations between you seems to have broken down a little.

I am afraid ebay never tell members what actions, if any, they take against other members, but they won't make the buyer do anything to help you get your item back.

All you can do is deal with the buyer and if you want the item back, risk sending them the postage.

When you refunded did the tracking status say 'attempted delivery' because if it did you needn't have refunded.
