Ebay are asking for my passport or driving licence information, my selling payments have been restricted until I provide the information and if I don't provide it by 26th March they will put further restrictions on my account.
I've bought and sold on ebay for over 10yrs and have never before been asked for such information.
Has anyone else had this?

It is fairly common for long-term Ebay members to be asked, seemingly out of the blue, to verify their identity by providing photo ID.

It's part of ebays checks for 'know your customer' under the anti money laundering regulations. I believe it's triggered by sales value.

Due to the amount you sell, quantity, and profit of the same categorised items (necklaces especially) this may have been noted by ebay who see you as a business seller, so you may want to consider upgrading to a Business account Upgrade to a business account | eBay.co.uk

Yes it’s fairly common all users at some point have to provide this information. We certainly was asked a few years back. As mentioned it’s part of verification of who you are and aml laws.
when you send your details ensure you show the whole page of passport or your drivers license. Don’t have any of it missing. It’s a common reason why eBay rejects the photos.
