I'm new to Ebay and want to buy a replacement foil for my electric shaver.
Unfortunately, for some weird reason, it asks for age verification even though the product isn't "dangerous". The last time I had a credit card account was over twenty years ago...
The seller says that there's nothing they can do.
Any suggestions on how to proceed? (The seller suggests that I get someone to buy it for me. I may very well have to do that. What a palaver...)

Ebay policy on knifes and bladed items covers many items requiring buyers to provide a credit card as proof/verification there 18yrs and over.
As the seller said, best get a family member or friend to buy on your behalf, then pay them.

Thanks for your reply.
This issue is that this is neither bladed nor a knife. It seems odd that the seller can't just remove the tag that says "dangerous".
I assume that the system depends solely on the seller's description. In that case, however, why don't the sellers describe it as something like "Replacement Electric Shaver Foil"? (I'm assuming that Ebay picks up such words as "razor" and automatically assumes the worst.)

AI is also included in the process and needs tweaking 😒

*Why* am I not surprised. 🙂
P.S. I asked a friend whether she could buy Ebay stuff for me. No, she couldn't - not age verified because she, too, doesn't have a credit card...
