Accepting a bid when I closed auction

Hi, got myself in a bit of a pickle. Put my spares or repairs car as auction, someone bid over the reserve so it said will sell.

As I'm a bit new to this as well as stupid, there was no bid acceptance so I thought ending the auction meant closing it early to accept the bid.

I've now closed the auction but now have no buyer, if I relist it do I get charged again?

Would prefer to just take the original bid now but of course I can't. What options do I have?

When you ended it you should have been given the option of accepting the highest bid.    You would pay the listing fee again.   You could use a classified then it doesn't end until the deal is done so eliminates timewasters.   It's cheaper too at £19.99 flat fee.   More info here:

Thanks for the quick response, it didn't give me an option of accepting the
bid, at least I don't think it did, it was just end auction.

Just wondered if it was possible to undo it, not going to relist again,
it's put me off as I don't know what I'm doing 😞

If the bid price goes over the Reserve then when you end the listing you have to select a reason for ending it, one of the options is 'sell to highest bidder'.

You'll need to relist, but the original listing fee is non-refundable.

The cheapest and best format to sell a vehicle on is an eBay Classified Ad. This also cuts out the time wasters and non-payers.

A Classified Ad costs £19.99 and there are no final value fees if you sell your item.

Your listing runs for 30 days, during which you can arrange for potential buyers to view your item, you can then end it once paid. You can accept offers too (you don't accept the offer until the buyer has been to view first).

If you decide instead to list in auction format or fixed price Buy It Now it will cost £14.99 for your listing, and that fee is payable even if your item doesn't sell or you end up with a non-payer, and if you sell your item, there are final value fees of 1% of the final transaction (min. £25, max. £45)

Maybe it wasn't there.  You can't resurrect the old listing but you can find out who the bidder was by clicking on where it says number of bids on the listing itself.   On the next page it will show their ID.   Click on that and use the contact link, top right.
