Hi
How can eBay say that they can guarantee the authenticity of sneakers when they are not the brands and have no training from the brands in knowing what to look for? To me this is giving off a false positive to buyers... If you are going by smell, stitching and other things like that then you are asking for trouble imo. The whole point of faking a sneaker is that you get it to look exactly like the original in every way, true some like the nike air max 90 are so copied there are some really bad ones out there, but what about the new Dunks like the 'Ben and Jerry'? there are some mental looking fakes out there and id be interested to see if an "expert" can spot these...
Id like to know what eBay says to this and what happens when one of their "experts" gets it wrong and says sneakers are real that turn out to be fake..?
" have no training from the brands in knowing what to look for? "
And, how exactly do you know that for a fact?
Ebay have a partner who is qualified in spotting fakes 😉
Quote: "Upon receiving the sneakers, eBay’s authentication partner first verifies that the contents are consistent with listing details. Then a multi-point, physical inspection is performed for authenticity. This process includes thorough physical inspection of the shoe’s structure, materials, tags, and logos."
