I ended a auction early as the item was damaged , I now see a charge on my account for this  ??

If you end an auction after any bid has been placed,  a fee is payable based on the price that bidding had reached.

Even if I ended due to damage on the item?
And I listed under a maximim selling fee of 3 pounds, so how is it over 6
pounds charge?
