cancelling an auction with a bid

I read somewhere you can cancel an auction with a bid, and not be charged if it is first time you have done it that calender year. Is this correct as I can't find anything about this? I have just had to cancel a listing with a bid, there were 2 days left to go.

Nonsense......if you cancel an auction with a bid you will be charged fees based on the highest bid

It was in an eBay update that I found a link to when I searched on google and many other mentions of this as well (but was dated 2013). Otherwise I would not have asked.

Never heard of it. You can soon check look at your account for entries not yet invoiced,you will no doubt find a 10% charge.

How long does it take for an entry to show in accounts, as nothing showing but was only cancelled 12 hours ago.

That is on the eBay.com site......it may not apply on the eBay UK site as different sites have different rules
