i purchased a car battery from a seller on ebay it  lasted a year guarantee was 4 years, got in touch with them no help , please dont buy from them the guarantee is useless unable to get any resolution or  replacement

Yes that is correct. Guarantees, supposedly offered by some Sellers are only as good as your ability to enforce it.
