Why do I keep getting notifications trying to make me buy rubbish?

Im only selling stuff at the moment on ebay and quite often I receive pointless notifications about things I will never buy in a million years. I may be quite annoyed about this right no but honestly it is becoming pretty much the same as email spam. Unwanted irrelevant useless time wasting pointless junk. I've looked at the settings but clearly whatever I changed had no effect. How do I turn off the junk? And why would I need it ever .. there's plenty of setting options and search parameters to fiddle with by myself .. i def don't need eBays constant stupid bombardment of automated sales **bleep**. Starting to make me very annoyed .. anyone help? I want this gone. Grrrr

go to:-

my ebay >>account tab >> site preferences >>Advertising preferences>> show >>>

Use my information to show me relevant ads on eBay and other sites.>> no

also go to:-

my ebay >>> account tab >>> communication preferences

and turn off everything there
